Employer Profile
Finance’s central government role is unique, driving whole-of-government policy and influencing strategy, while also delivering practical, cost-effective and quality outcomes to benefit Western Australians. Finance delivers this via three objectives:
-
placing customers at the centre of all we do;
-
being outcomes focused – collaborative, innovative and values-led; and
-
becoming the best place to work with engaged, inspired and proud staff.
Our values-based culture is reflected in how we go about our business and in what we expect from ourselves. We do this through being collaborative, empathetic, constantly seeking growth and communicating with clarity.
What Finance does:
Advise: We are a strategic advisor to the State Government and associated government departments and agencies. We are central in providing advice on government reform projects, project and asset management, procurement and policy.
Build: We oversee major non-residential building projects including schools, health facilities and prison projects. We also manage government office accommodation to drive efficiencies and savings to the WA taxpayer.
Buy: We are leaders in government procurement. We utilise strong buying power to secure products and services for government, delivering value-for-money outcomes to the WA taxpayer.
Collect: We collect revenue on behalf of government and administers the payments of grants and subsidies to the community.
Deliver: We facilitate and optimise the delivery of corporate services for government, using insights and leading technologies to continuously innovate and improve.
