Interagency
Graduate Program
Type of Organisation
The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety, the Department of Jobs,
Tourism, Science and Innovation and Energy Policy WA are three Western Australian
Public Sector departments.
Employer Profile
The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DMIRS), the Department of
Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation (JTSI) and, as of 2022, Energy Policy WA (EPWA)
have come together to create an award-winning interagency graduate program.
The 18-month program aims to build the skills, experience and networks required for a successful career in the public sector. A customised rotational plan provides graduates with a range of opportunities across the public sector to help contribute to better outcomes for the Western Australian community.

Roles available for Graduates
Each year we advertise for a variety of graduate officer roles across the three participating departments. All of the graduates will be based in a home team, where they will return to on completion of the graduate program. The graduate will complete an initial rotation in their home area, followed by a number of rotations across the three departments and potentially other WA public sector departments.
Degree subjects required for Graduates wishing to apply
As the three departments are so diverse in terms of their work and projects, each year we look for graduates with a range of qualifications. Each graduate officer job advertisements will advise what qualifications we are looking for that particular position.
